Board of Directors

Bob Monsen - President
Bob Monsen is an entrepreneur who has owned and operated his own general construction business for over thirty years. He is President of the Institute for Social Renewal, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about Rudolf Steiner's treaties on threefold social transformation. Bob is a certified organizational consultant and is currently working extensively with Waldorf schools and other educational institutions throughout the United States. Bob is a member of the Social Science Section of the Anthroposophical Society and board member of Rudolf Steiner College. He was the board president of the Waldorf School of the Peninsula for over twelve years and was instrumental in creating the ATA tuition adjustment program as a way of supporting independent education that is accessible to all children.

Gary Lamb - Vice President
Gary Lamb has over 25 years experience in business management and not-for-profit administration. He is presently the director of the Center of Social and
Environmental Responsibility at Hawthorne Valley, Vice President of the Institute for Social Renewal, and a visiting Waldorf high school economics teacher. He was previously a development director at Hawthorne Valley School and founder of the Hope Through Education privately funded voucher program in upstate New York. His business experience includes being the production manager for Weleda, Inc., and the retail store manager for Hawthorne Valley Farm. Gary was also the managing editor and essayist for The Threefold Review, a magazine based on the social ideas of Rudolf Steiner, and is author of the book, Social Mission of Waldorf Education: Independent, and Accessible to All, published by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America.

Mary Roscoe - Secretary/Treasurer
Mary Roscoe has been the administrator at Waldorf School of the Peninsula for over ten years and has participated in tuition adjustment and development conversations. Mary completed the Collaborative Leadership Training through Antioch New England, participated extensively in consensus and meeting facilitation workshops, and is a trained mediator. She was the co-chair of the accreditation team at Waldorf School of the Peninsula and was a member of a school accreditation team for the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America.








The destructive aspects of economic life must be counterbalanced by ethical creativity arising from a free spiritual-cultural life and the conscious use of gift, loan, and purchase money for the good of society.
